From Grade 9 to Grade 12, students earn course credits toward high school graduation. To obtain a Manitoba high school diploma, students must accumulate 30 credits from a combination of compulsory and optional courses.
Compulsory courses are required
Optional courses or electives may be chosen based on student interests, abilities, values, and career goals
Within the optional subject areas, students must complete one Grade 11 credit and two Grade 12 credits.
Students and parents are encouraged to discuss credit requirements with their school counsellors and teachers.
