What are the ward boundaries and trustee representatives?
Park West School Division is divided into wards, with trustees elected to represent each ward.
Although trustees are elected by ward, all trustees are responsible for making decisions in the best interest of the entire division.
Ward maps and additional election information will continue to be updated throughout the election process.
How many Board meetings are there?
Regular Board meetings are typically held once per month during the school year. Additional committee or special meetings may also occur throughout the year as needed.
Trustees are expected to prepare for meetings, review materials, and participate in discussions and decision-making processes that support the division and its schools.
Do trustees get paid?
Trustees receive an annual indemnity for their service on the Board of Trustees.
Indemnity amounts are established through Board By-Law and vary depending on the position held.

Can I campaign at schools or school events?
Schools and school events are intended to support students, families, and learning communities. Campaigning by candidates at school events, in classrooms, or through school distribution channels is generally not permitted during the election period.

Can I advertise through the school?
Campaign materials are not permitted to be distributed through schools or school division communication channels during the election period. This includes materials distributed directly or indirectly to students, families, or school communities.

I am a public school teacher or school division employee. Can I still run for School Trustee?
A teacher or other employee may run for School Trustee. However, employees of the same school division may be required to take a leave of absence if elected to serve as a trustee.
Individuals considering running are encouraged to review applicable legislation and seek additional information if needed.
My spouse works for the school division. Can I still run for School Trustee?
Yes. An individual whose spouse works for the school division may still serve as a trustee. However, situations involving potential conflicts of interest may arise and would need to be declared in accordance with applicable legislation and Board procedures.
